Diet pill linked to liver failure in US

WEIGHT loss pill Xenical is under a safety cloud, with US reports linking it to liver failure. The US Food and Drug Administration this week notified doctors and patients it has begun a review of the drug. The review is in response to 32 reports in the past decade of serious liver injury, including six cases of liver failure, in patients using the drug orlistat, which is marketed as Xenical or Alli.
